Project Overview

Farm Ads 365 is an Irish farming marketplace at farmads365.ie. Farmers, contractors, dealers and agri-businesses use it to buy and sell tractors, livestock, farm machinery, feed, land, farm technology and agricultural services and jobs.

We designed and built the whole platform as a custom web application: the public marketplace, seller accounts, online payments, messaging, reviews, seller verification and an admin panel the owner runs day to day.

The Challenge

General classified sites bury farm listings between sofas and phones. A farm buyer wants to search by make, breed and county, see how far away an ad is, and know the seller is genuine. A seller wants the ad live today. The owner wants a marketplace that runs itself, without a full-time moderator or developer.

Built for Buyers

  • Farm-specific categories - Tractors, Livestock, Farm Machinery, Animal Feedstuff, Organics, Land, Farm Technology, and Agri Services and Careers, with breed, make and type pages beneath them.
  • Near me search - buyers search by distance as well as by county, so they find stock within reach.
  • Filters and saved ads - filter by category, county, price and distance, and save ads to come back to.
  • Wanted ads - buyers can post what they are looking for and let sellers come to them.
  • Trust signals - verified seller badges, seller reviews and a way to report an ad.

Built for Sellers

  • Post an ad in minutes - the first ad is free, and ads go live straight away.
  • Featured ads - sellers can pay online to give an ad more visibility, in the same checkout as the listing.
  • Private and trade sellers - businesses get a trade profile with their trading name, website and opening hours.
  • Seller verification - sellers can apply for a verified badge, which buyers see on their ads.
  • Seller dashboard - manage ads, renew or feature them, read messages and reply to reviews, and download receipts.
  • Contact on their terms - sellers choose whether buyers reach them by on-site messaging, phone, or both.

Built for the Owner

The owner runs the marketplace from a custom admin panel, without needing a developer for everyday changes.

  • Moderation - review reported ads and remove, reinstate or feature listings.
  • Seller verification - review applications and approve or decline verified badges.
  • Pricing and promotions - set ad prices, free ad offers and featured pricing from the panel.
  • Site content - manage categories, the main menu, counties and announcements.
  • Team access - give helpers moderation access without access to payments or settings.
  • Automatic emails - sellers are emailed when an ad goes live, is about to expire, gets a message or a review, so the owner does not chase anyone.

Search-Friendly From Launch

Every category, breed and make has its own page, so a search like "Charolais weanlings" can land on a page about exactly that. The site launched with an XML sitemap, clean URLs and structured data on listings and category pages, so search engines can understand what is for sale.

Results and Outcome

Farm Ads 365 is live at farmads365.ie, serving all 32 counties with farm-specific categories, near-me search, free first ads, online payments for featured ads, seller accounts, messaging, reviews and a full admin panel. We publish no traffic, listing or revenue figures, because those belong to the client.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a custom marketplace website cost in Ireland?

Our websites start from 1,500 euro and ecommerce builds from 2,500 euro. A marketplace with seller accounts, payments and search is a custom web application, so it is quoted from its scope. You get a written quote before any work starts.

Can you take card payments on a listings website?

Yes. We integrate Stripe, as we did here for listing fees and featured ads, with receipts sellers can download from their dashboard.

How long does it take to build a platform like this?

Our standard website timeline is 2 to 4 weeks. A full marketplace is a larger custom build, so we give a timeline with the written quote once the scope is agreed.

Can the owner run the site without a developer?

Yes. Categories, menus, pricing and site settings are all managed in the admin panel. We are based in Delvin, Westmeath, work remotely across Ireland, and offer maintenance plans from 49 euro a month.
